Thank you all for coming to show your support, if you missed this event do not despair there’ll be another one very soon, look out for the posters around campus and halls. Freshers Fayre…and Events

I am pleased to announce that we won the prize for; BEST RECRUITER 2007!!!! We began as we intend to go on; the VERY BEST. We will bring you the best events, give you all the help and support that you need, and you will work with the most helpful, efficient, friendliest committee :) that is a promise.

Our calendar is full to the brim with interesting events throughout the year, for example, just next week (Friday 28th September) we are hosting a meet and greet event at BAR ICI from 8pm till late. All of you are invited and we look forward to meeting you all. For the month of October we will be celebrating Black History Month in association with Multi-Ethnic Aberdeen throughout the month, but we are also organising a Black History Month Weekender during this weekend there will be film showings, an exploration of african and caribbean literature, and perhaps a getaway to Glasgow to take part in the Black History Month Festival and Freedom Walk. As we are a fun loving society we will celebrate Independence Days in all pomp and glory. We will also hold Christmas Dinner this is a reason to stay in Aberdeen during the Christmas Holidays ;)  At the New Year’s Eve Beach Fireworks Party we will get together to usher in the new year. Boys (and girls maybe….) take a breath, because this is beyond exciting; we will be watching The African Cup Of Nations and supporting our teams, watching the football by yourself is no longer an option.  Be ready to dance, eat and be merry at The Cultural Day 2008. If you are the outdoorsy type (and even if you are not) you will enjoy the Country Bumpkin Day Out 2008 where you’ll be busy shooting, maybe a bit of archery, maybe getting yourself muddy on the quad bikes (is this what they are called? anyhoo I mean the little noisy car thingys…there’ll be a picture soon :) ). At the end of the academic year ladies and gentlemen, after much hard work we shall all don our fancy suits, ball gowns and masks and head to the Masquerade Ball 2008. On top of all this; we will have film nights, ice skating, african dance and drumming workshops as often as we can. We love our society, and we hope you’ll love it too.

Please feel free to offer any suggestions, ask any questions, or just say hello by sending a quick email to acs@abdn.ac.uk, leaving us a comment on this site, or even arranging to see us in person at the Societies Centre at The Hub.

Welcome; signing up to this society could be one of the best decisions of your life we look forward to working with you :)

Updates…Updates…:)

The society is now fully affiliated :) After much hardwork from everyone. Pictures will be put up very soon and a calendar of events will also be available.
